Review For Angels With Dirty Faces

RATING -
8/10!

In my opinion, the film Angels with Dirty Faces was brilliant. The characters were given their appropriate roles as in James Cagney was the main pratagonists out of Pat O'brian and Humphrey Bogart. Cagney's ideal roles were tough guys as it gave him a chance to perform at pace. His acting was spot on but the high pitched voices didnt quite work for me. Maybe because its an old film but quite frankly was rather annoying. On the otherhand Jerry a.k.a Father Connelly was, in my view, a good character but was kind of laid-back and didn't really see much of the screen. The opening, which shows Rocky's and Jerry's childhood was superbly put together but as the film progressed, it slowly deteriorated and the ending wasn't up to standards. It is as if they killed off Rocky so quick that they wanted to get it done and out of the way. But nonetheless, a great film to watch. Just a few hiccups on the way, like the black and white picture which should be made into colour to give the film depth and a bit more of a 'WOW' factor.

Black and White???

You really need to widen your views of films Akash.

The review is rather brief and I think you could have done a lot more. More effort next time please. CJ
